Sunsets Sand and Grey Seals

This week my photo walks included a night I have been waiting for all summer, a High Tide walk out to Hilbre. Nothing can prepare you for the feeling of standing in such a beautiful place as the sun sets, surrounded by the sea and friendly Hilbre Grey Seals to keep you company.

With two different walks this week, my first route crossed Hoylake beach, out to the sea and along the line of the tide, this walk is a leisurely one that still brings beautiful sights as the sun sets out to sea.

On Tuesday we set off across the sands racing the tide to Middle Eye, once on the island the sea slowly came in around the rock upon which we sat, enjoying the warm summers evening cut off from the land. As the sun approached the horizon we made our way to the lifeboat station to be met by bobbing seals enjoying the setting sun just as we were.

I can’t express how much I love being out here in the middle of the river, it’s so nice to share it with my photo walk groups. If you’d like to join me in September there are a few spaces left, but you’ll need to hurry as they have been very popular.
