About Neon Light

The sun sets as the waves shimmer around the old shipwreck off the coast of Hoylake on the Wirral.

Welcome to Neon Light Photography, a place to reconnect with the beauty of our world through the lens of my camera and yours.

Welcome to Neon Light

Hey, I’m Liam, a self-taught Landscape Photographer from the Wirral and I’ve been taking photos all my life. From my first Pentax Film camera given to me by my aunt through to my current Pentax K-S2, I love exploring the world around me.

I have always loved walking and the great outdoors and capturing the beauty of our world through a camera lens is my greatest passion, it’s brought me relief through dark times and is often my reason for stepping out of the door to see what the day brings.

In the last year, I’ve expanded from prints and physical products to photo walks and workshops, exploring local landmarks and distant mountains, all in search of the beauty of our world.

A neon light in the dark

If the past few years have taught me anything, it’s that it is important to look after our mental health and reconnect with our environment. That’s why I decided to start my photo walks and workshops. From FREE gratuity based walks around the Wirral coast to beginner photography workshops and long-distance photo walks in the Welsh Mountains, there’s something for everyone.

If you’ve had a hard time coping with lockdowns or struggle with your mental health, why not try one of my free walks. I’ll show you the beauty of the world at Sunset, from flat beaches to lighthouses and grey seals, I know how much of a positive effect the journey will have. After all, it’s what’s kept me going this last year.

Giving Something Back

Photography has given me so much joy over the years, it’s my chance to express myself creatively and my vehicle to explore the world. I’ve loved it ever since I was given my first camera by my Aunt, she meant the world to me as a child and when she passed away from cancer I was heartbroken. Today, I remember her in my photographs, I feel like whenever I take a shot I’m proud of, she lives on in the images I capture. I hope she would be proud.

I love photography so much I just want to share my love with other people, to help them learn the art of photography and take shots we’re all proud of. So if you’re just beginning your journey of discovery with photography, please consider joining me on a photo walk or beginner photography workshop, and fall in love with the view through the lens, just as I have.
