Well this Sunday I decided to head out to Hilbre to see if I could capture any shots of the Wirral Kayak Challenge that was passing by. I headed out super early (If you’re going to go out early why not make it a sunrise!) and after taking shots around Little Eye and Middle Eye at high tide, I spotted the safety boats heading round before waiting on Hilbre enjoying the morning sun.
The main body of Kayaks & Paddleboards (there were 148 people taking part this year I hear) approached at about half 9 and looked glorious on the calm summer tide. I managed to get a few nice shots, though getting the whole group in one panorama was a challenge.
The event was raising money for Claire House and Cheshire Blood Bikes, two highly deserving charities, if you’d like to donate to those who took part you can do so on Just Giving here.
The event is run every year, so if you’re a kayaker and would like to take part next year make sure you follow them on Facebook!
