A Snowdon Sun Rise

Day breaks over Mount Snowdon as seen from the slopes of Y Garn, Snowdonia.

To say that I’m not really a morning person would be an understatement, so the idea of getting up at 4am to go and climb a mountain is not one that usually appeals. But on this occasion I decided to follow the example of the early bird and catch the worm. And what a view I had. My route started just outside Beddgelert and trecked up in the dark to the summit of y Garn on the Nantlle Ridge. As I reached the top the sun appeared right over the top of Mount Snowdon, such a beautiful sight!

Of course, the day was also an opportunity to try out one of my new Photo Hike routes that I’ll be running later in the year. These new routes will last about 4/5 hours and I’ll be offering them as guided walks to help other photographers and budding mountaineers get out and about and experience a range of challenging and rewarding routes on which to take stunning photographs.

If you’re interested in joining one of my walks click here to subscribe to my newsletter and I’ll let you know when they are available to book.

In the meantime I hope you love my shots below and keep an eye out for more over the next week or so from North Wales, I can’t tell you how good it feels to be back!
