Lightport Night Photography Walk – Southport
For just three nights in February, Lord Street in Southport will be transformed into a vivid corridor of colour, sound and light. Lightport is a brand-new immersive event created by Lucid Creates, turning one of the town’s most iconic streets into a glowing, sensory experience.
On Monday 16th February, I’m inviting you to join me for a one-off evening photography walk along the Lightport route – a relaxed, exploratory session where we’ll see what the night gives us and respond creatively as we go.
This isn’t about ticking off every installation or rushing for “the shot”. Instead, we’ll slow down, observe how people interact with the artwork, and talk through how to photograph light-based installations in a way that feels intentional rather than chaotic.
Having led many walks at large-scale light events – including Liverpool’s River of Light – I’ll help you look beyond the obvious and spot compositions others often miss: isolating details, managing colour, working with contrast, and knowing when not to shoot wide.
As always, this walk is free to attend (gratuity-based), friendly, and open to all experience levels – including camera phone users.
