Sunrise @ Hoylake Shipwreck Gratuity Photo Walk

Join me for a peaceful sunrise photography walk to the Hoylake Shipwreck, one of the Wirral’s most atmospheric coastal subjects. While most visitors experience this location at sunset, sunrise offers something very different – softer light, calmer conditions, and a stillness that suits the shipwreck perfectly.

We’ll meet early and walk out across the sands at low tide, timing our arrival so the rising sun lines up behind the wreck, casting long shadows and gentle colour across the beach and estuary. Morning light here is often subtle and pastel, with mist, reflections and texture in the sand adding depth to your images.

This walk is about slowing down and observing. We’ll talk through composition ideas, how to work with wide open spaces, and how to use foreground textures, leading lines and negative space to strengthen your photographs. Long exposures work beautifully here, but just as much can be achieved with simple techniques and a relaxed approach.

As with all my walks, this session is free to attend (gratuity-based), friendly, and suitable for all experience levels – including camera phone users. The route is longer and tide-dependent, so places are limited and booking is essential.
