Description
At first glance, “Last of the Light” feels calm and serene — but behind the shot lies a very different experience. Taken on Crosby Beach among Antony Gormley’s iconic “Another Place” sculptures, I found myself slowly sinking into the sand and mud as I set up my tripod. It was a race against time to capture the moment before I ended up as stuck as the Iron Men themselves.
The photograph balances this tension with beauty: the warm glow of the setting sun highlights the ripples of sand, while the dark silhouette of the statue stands in stark contrast against the colourful evening sky. It’s an image that reflects both the stillness of the scene and the unpredictability of the coast.
Printed on demand using C-Type Fuji Matt or Fuji Gloss paper, these prints are available in four sizes. Each comes un-mounted with a 10mm white border, ready for mounting and framing at home. Professionally produced to gallery quality, this is a striking piece of Liverpool coastal photography.
