Description
The Twr Mawr Lighthouse on Ynys Llanddwyn, just off Newborough Beach in Anglesey, is one of the most photographed lighthouses in Wales — and with good reason. This historic beacon, built in 1873, sits proudly on its rocky island backdrop with the mountains of Snowdonia visible across the water.
In “Clifftop Twr Mawr”, I set out to capture a unique perspective on this well-loved subject. Instead of joining the crowds gathered on the hill for sunset, I slowed down, edged towards the cliffside, and got low to the ground — creating a striking composition that feels both familiar and fresh. The result is a dramatic view of one of Anglesey’s most iconic landmarks, bathed in the warm light of evening.
