Description
The Angel of the North has stood proudly over Gateshead since 1998, its 20-metre-high figure and 54-metre wingspan making it one of Britain’s most recognisable public sculptures. Once controversial, Antony Gormley’s creation has grown into a powerful symbol of the North East, welcoming millions of travellers along the A1 each year.
In “Angels Weathered Wings”, I captured the Angel in profile, using the strong diagonal line of its wings to create a striking composition. The weathered steel glows in rich tones of orange and brown, its textured surface reflecting both the elements and the endurance of the region it represents.
Printed on demand using C-Type Fuji Matt or Fuji Gloss paper, these prints are available in four sizes. Each comes un-mounted with a 10mm white border, ready for you to mount and frame at home. Professionally produced to gallery quality, this piece is perfect for lovers of contemporary sculpture and Northern identity.
