Liverpool Waterfront Photography Workshop – Blue Hour from the Wirral

Join me this December for a brand-new photography workshop with a fresh twist on one of my most popular sessions. We’ll be heading out in the early evening to capture the Liverpool Waterfront at blue hour, when the city lights reflect across the River Mersey and the skyline takes on its most dramatic colours.

I’ve often been asked how to take great nighttime shots of Liverpool – and my answer is always the same: the secret is not to shoot at night at all, but in blue hour, just after sunset, when the balance of natural and artificial light is at its most beautiful.

From the Wirral side of the river, you’ll enjoy one of the best vantage points for photographing Liverpool’s world-famous skyline, including the Three Graces, the Royal Liver Building, and the city’s modern landmarks. It’s the perfect chance to take home an iconic Liverpool beauty shot.

This workshop is open to all skill levels – from beginners with smartphones to experienced photographers with DSLRs or mirrorless cameras. I’ll guide you through composition, long exposures, and camera settings to help you master low-light photography.

Expect a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, expert tips, and plenty of time to experiment. All you need is warm clothing, a camera (or phone), and ideally a tripod.

I’ll never pressure you to tip; I believe that, if money is given, it should be voluntary and in direct proportion to the quality of the workshop and the budget of those attending. It’s a kind of satisfaction guarantee, if you don’t enjoy the workshop, just walk away, no questions asked. As this is a public artwork display I cannot guarantee all artworks will be available each night. If, as in previous years, bad weather causes the event to be cancelled for a night the walk will not take place and all attendees will be informed by email/text/sms.
