Sunset at Castell Dinas Brân
Join me this September for a breathtaking sunset photography workshop at Castell Dinas Brân, one of the most spectacular ruins in North Wales. Perched high above Llangollen, this ancient castle offers panoramic views of the Dee Valley, making it the perfect location to capture dramatic landscapes as the sun sets behind the hills.
We’ll embark on an early evening walk, climbing to the ruins in time to line up the castle with the setting sun, creating stunning compositions that blend history and nature. Along the way, we’ll explore techniques for capturing light, contrast, and depth in your shots, making the most of golden hour’s warm glow.
Who is this workshop for?
This photowalk is open to all skill levels, from beginners using camera phones to experienced photographers with DSLRs or mirrorless cameras. As always, the atmosphere will be relaxed and pressure-free, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions, share ideas, and experiment with different compositions.
📍 Important Notes:
- The walk involves a moderate climb up to the castle ruins with some uneven ground, so sturdy footwear is essential.
- As this is a gratuity-based workshop, there’s no upfront fee—just come along, enjoy the experience, and pay what you feel at the end.
- Sunset times/conditions will be checked closer to the date to ensure we make the most of the light so start time may change slightly.
Whether you’re looking to expand your landscape photography skills, enjoy an evening in a stunning location, or simply soak in the beauty of North Wales at golden hour, this workshop promises to be a memorable one.
