Liverpool Cathedrals Gratuity Photowalk
Discover the architectural grandeur and unique urban atmosphere of Liverpool in this special street photography workshop. Focusing on the city’s two iconic cathedrals, we’ll explore how to compose striking images in a bustling cityscape while embracing the challenges of street and architectural photography.
We’ll begin at Liverpool Central Station and head up the hill to the magnificent Metropolitan Cathedral. With its modernist design and dramatic interior, this is a fantastic place to capture bold architectural shots. From there, we’ll walk along Hope Street, passing the historic Philharmonic Hall, before arriving at the awe-inspiring Anglican Cathedral – a masterpiece of Gothic Revival architecture.
At each cathedral, we’ll spend 15–20 minutes allowing you to explore the spaces and find your unique perspectives. Both buildings welcome visitors inside, and while entry is donation-based, contributing to their upkeep is highly encouraged. This workshop is ideal for capturing intricate details, grand interiors, and the interplay between architecture and its urban surroundings.
Whether you’re a beginner looking to improve your composition skills on your phone or a seasoned photographer eager to find some new perspectives, this workshop offers something for everyone. Connect with other photography enthusiasts as we walk the streets of Liverpool and discover its cultural heart through our lenses.
Bring your camera/camera phone, comfortable shoes, and a keen eye for detail as we embark on a creative journey through this vibrant city!
*Neon Light gratuity-based Photowalks and workshops are offered for no upfront fee, all I ask is that participants consider giving whatever they feel the walk was worth to them at the end of the walk with no expectation. I’ll never pressure you to tip; I believe that, if money is given, it should be voluntary and in direct proportion to the quality of the walk and the budget of those attending. It’s a kind of satisfaction guarantee, if you don’t enjoy the walk, just walk away, no questions asked. Suggested gratuity for this 2-3 hour workshop is £10-£20, please consider giving donations to the Cathedrals if you intend on heading inside.
